22. 8 x 10 Tasveer (2009)
Indian films and posters from 1930: film (8 x 10 Tasveer)(2009)
https://bombaymann2.blogspot.com › 2018/06 › film-8...
8 x 10 Tasveer (English: 8 x 10 Pictures) is a Bollywood mystery psychological thriller movie directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. The movie was released on 3 April 2009 starring Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia Azmi, Sharmila Tagore and Javed Jaffrey in the lead role. 8 X 10 Tasveer is engaging and keeps you guessing almost until the end. The climax is where you feel you were let down and let down big time. I guess Nagesh Kukunoor totally forgot what he was making when he scripted the climax of 8 X 10 Tasveer.
It’s yet another movie that spoils the fun right at the end. But it’s definitely a good watch. Akshay Kumar is finally seen in something that’s far from his usual slapstick comedy. He looks convincing after a long time. The film is extremely gloomy and slow. But I have no complaints about that as this was the only way in which this story could have been narrated to maintain the suspense till the very last moment. The first few minutes are used to show the abilities of Akki which gives us an idea of what is to follow for the next 2Hrs. Jai (Akshay Kumar) is the son of a big business tycoon. His father died under mysterious circumstances, which forced Jai to investigate whether it was an accident or planned murder.

He gave it 5/5 saying, “We don’t know that Indians like these type of movies or not, but America will love this, even though it will not gross good in America (because of being a movie not from their country.) then also if any American would see it will think that Hollywood is nothing in front of Bollywood.” Dainik Bhaskar gave it a 4.5/5 star saying (actually in Hindi), “If you’re not a fool….you will not miss the movie.”

The acting is done by Vidya Balan as Manjulika was incredible. One of my all-time favorites. What a movie, doesn’t bore me how many times I watch it. Talaash: The Answer Lies Within is a psychological mystery thriller suspense movie directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan, and Ritesh Sidwani. The movie was released on 30 November 2012 starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukherji, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Rajkummar Rao in a lead role. Talaash is an outstanding movie. A taut psychological thriller that keeps you guessing till the end, it leaves you spellbound, leaves you mesmerized, leaves you with an exclamation, ‘Wow!’. An absolute must-watch for all movie buffs. This movie is so cool that it just blows you away in some parts, like your trying to hide behind the seat in front of your raw, makes you jump out of your seat a lot…
One thing I tell you that I didn’t want to see it at first because I heard it sucked, but I was like what the hell let’s just give it a shot and it was such a good movie! Emotional and suspenseful, this movie doesn’t disappoint. For Ghajini, the role required him to bulk up. But in Talaash, he was supposed to look like an everyday man. Aamir has consistently proven to give his best in the role. Beautifully woven story. The climax was well executed. The last 20 minutes are certainly jaw-dropping. Rani and Kareena booked their nominations for various award functions with their phenomenal acting. Aamir once proved why he is regarded as Mr. Perfectionist. Performances, storylines, direction, suspense – everything is stunning. Do- watch this movie if you haven’t.

With sleek execution and a taut storyline, Gumnam is a nail-biting murder mystery. The director groups up to eight personalities from various walks of life and starts bumping them off one after the other in situations that are scary and thrilling at the same time. Gumnam’s title track is the real winner. Haunting, to say the least, Gumnaam hain koi has a sinister quality to it.

Manorama Six Feet Under is one of the best Hindi mystery movies directed by Navdeep Singh and produced by Ketan Maroo. The movie was released on 21 September 2007 starring Abhay Deol, Raima Sen, Sarika and Gul Panag in the lead role. The movie is a neo-noir with an amateur detective in a small sleepy town from Rajasthan who finds himself caught in a web of lies, deceit, and murder.
This movie is based on Chinatown (1974) by Roman Polanski, with the basic premise being similar to the original, despite changes in the representation of characters and some key plot points. The film didn’t work well commercially but critics appreciated the film and especially excellent written dialogues. You must give at least one chance to watch this movie. After watching, share your views with us.
8. Talvar (2015)
post 2010 films not done
Talvar (English title: Guilty) is one of the best Hindi mystery movies directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Vineet Jain and Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie was released on 2 October 2015 starring Irrfan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Neeraj Kabi, and Sohum Shah in a lead role. The movie is based on the 2008 Noida double murder case. The film has tried to cover all the aspects regarding Aarushi’s murder case. I am very disappointed with the way CBI and the police handled this case. Talvar is a film striving to portray the case not in a black and white manner by clearly demarcating who is in the right and who in the wrong, but by trying to present all sides of the case in an unbiased manner.
However, the film will fail in its endeavor if the public itself decides to take sides before reviewing the film. If we have already firmly made up our minds regarding the culprits and the perpetrators of this case, I see no point in those individuals seeing this film. The prime objective of this motion picture will fall flat on people whose vision is already tainted with their version of black and white. This movie has literally shaken me from inside. I can’t get over its impact. It really hits you deep inside your mind. It compels you to think over the circumstances and re-rationalize your thoughts. “Talvar” in a true sense, the conflict between justice and prejudice has a deep impact on us and our society. It’s an eye-opening movie and I must watch a movie.

A sequel to the film was released in 1996, named Return of Jewel Thief, with only two actors reappearing and reprising their original roles; Dev Anand reprising the role of Vinay Kumar and Ashok Kumar reprising the role of Arjun. It was one of the movies in which Dev Anand acted outside his own banner, Navketan.
6. Drishyam (2015)

Drishyam is an Indian thriller mystery movie directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Ajit Andhare, Abhishek Pathak, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The movie was released on 31 July 2015 starring Ajay Devgan, Tabu, and Shriya Saran in the lead role. The movie is distributed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam movie Drishyam starring Mohanlal and Meena in the lead role, which was directed and written by Jeethu Joseph.
The Malayalam movie Drishyam set a record after finishing 10,000 shows within 26 days. The movie became the highest-grossing film in the history of Malayalam cinema. The movie received a very strong positive response from critics as well as from the public with an average score of 8.9 out of 10 by IMDb. There is a lot of expectation from the movie to perform very well at the box office which is going to be released on 31 July 2015. Drishyam is one of my all-time favorite thriller Bollywood movies 2015.
The video features Ajay Devgan as Vijay Salgaonkar, Tabu as IG Meera Deshmukh, Shriya Saran as Nandhani Vijay Salgaonkar, Ishita Dutta as Vijay’s daughter, Rajat Kapoor as Meera’s Husband, and Prathamesh Parab. The soundtrack of the movie is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics written by Gulzar. It is one of the most awaited, or we can say most anticipated movies of 2015 in Bollywood. The movie looks like an interesting plot with lots of drama and suspense. Ajay and Tabu’s look set to mark with their performance too. This movie always comes in the category of suspense and thriller movies, or we can say suspense+ thriller+mystery movies.
5. Rahasya (2015)

Rahasya (English: Mystery) is an Indian murder mystery+thriller movie directed and written by Manish Gupta. The movie was released on 30 January 2015 starring Kay Kay Menon, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tisca Chopra, Mita Vasisht, Nimai Bali, Ashwani Kalsekar, and many others. The movie was inspired by the Aarushi murder case, which was met with some criticism by Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. The movie generally received positive reviews.
The film revolves around the story of an 18-year-old girl, Ayesha Mahajan (Sakshi Sem), who is murdered in her own house. Her father Sachin Mahajan (Ashish Vidyarthi) is deemed the prime suspect in the murder. CBI Officer Sunil Paraskar (Kay Kay Menon) picks up the case and soon finds evidence that makes it more difficult to determine who exactly is responsible for Ayesha’s death. In the end, he realizes that Ayesha’s mother (Tisca Chopra) had murdered her because Ayesha was an illegitimate child of Sachin and the family’s maid (Ashwini Kalsekar).
4. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015)
post 2010 films not done
One of the reasons for watching this movie is the acting of Neeraj Kabi. This movie is a great mix of noir and detective thrillers. The movie is full of suspense, thriller, action, and mystery. The movie gained a positive review from the critics as well as from audiences. This mystery is the one you would want to solve. The dialogue of Dr.Guha ” Bakshy Babu meri Dosti nahi Le sake, toh meri Dushmani Kaise loge” is awesomely presented by Neeraj Kabi. Must watch the movie for every detective’s movie fans.

Although it is a murder mystery, it continues to draw repeat audiences even though the identity of the murderer is no longer a secret. Teesri Manzil was the last time Shammi starred in a Nasir Hussain film. Asha would go on to do four more, three of which she starred in. Teesri Manzil was also the last Hussain film in which Mohammed Rafi sang all the songs.
2. Kaun (1999)

(Hai Kaun Woh) (1999) - Indian films and posters from 1930
Kaun? (English: Who’s There?) is one of the best Indian mystery thriller movies I have ever seen. The movie was released on 26 February 1999 starring Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh in the lead role. The movie was directed by Ram Gopal Verma and produced by Mukesh Udeshi. The man keeps bothering the home alone, a woman asking her about a person called Mr. Malhotra. The woman is reluctant to open the door due to the fear of a serial killer on the loose in the city.
The background score, the taut, unpredictable script, and the fairly but unerringly strange characters all contribute to the film’s suspense and thriller, keeping you engaged throughout a typical Ram Gopal Varma-Anurag Kashyap masterpiece keeping in mind the time it came out. A psychological thriller that has become a cult hit.
1. Kahaani (2012)
post 2010 not done
Kahaani is one of my favorite and most liked Hindi mystery movies directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Kushal Kantilal Gada and Sujoy Ghosh. The movie was released on 9 March 2012 starring Vidya Balan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Parambrata Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, and Indraneil Sengupta in the lead role. Kahaani takes Kolkata beyond cliches. The city has not only been brilliantly captured but has also been featured as a protagonist itself! I would say that “Kahaani” is one of the best Indian thrillers on celluloid.
The cinematography of the movie was mind-blowing. I have never purchased a single original DVD in my life… But Kahaani will be my first one… It is the most wonderful movie I have ever seen in Hindi cinema. Kahaani is a well-made film with an attention-grabbing script, marvelous performances and above all Vidya Balan’s well-delivered and award-winning act as a pregnant woman. One of the best suspense and thriller movies I have ever seen. Must watch a movie for every mystery movie fan.
