Lyrics of Rekha O Rekha, Jab Se Tumhe Dekha - रेखा ओ रेखा जब से तुम्हें देखा

rekhaa o rekhaa jab se tumhe dekha
khana pina sona dushvaar ho gaya
main aadami tha kam ka bekar ho gaya
rekha o rekha

tumase dil kyaa lagaya hai tumako katil banaya hai
tumase dil kyaa lagaya hai tumako katil banaya hai
din raat jalaati ho divaana banaati ho
are meraa bhi ek din zarur aayega
rekha o rekha

kaafi mahaga ye pyaar hai shadi ka intazaar hai
maalik pe bharosaa hai maine to ye sochaa hai
are mehanat jo ki hai to phal bhi milega
rekhaa o rekha

TABASSUM

Tabassum in Gogola 001

Kiran Bala Day began her career under the stage name Baby Tabassum in the 1946 film Nargis. She was born July 9, 1942 (some sources list 1944) in Bombay, the daughter of a Hindu-Punjabi father and a Muslim-Pathan mother. Both parents were journalists, and her mother also worked writing dialogue for films. As a child artist, she appeared in several hit films including Badi Bahen (1947), Sangram (1950), Afsana (1951), and Baiju Bawra (1952) supporting major stars like Ashok Kumar, Suraiya, Nargis, Dilip Kumar, Nimmi, Vyjayanthimala, Veena, Dev Anand, Madhubala, and Meena Kumari. “In all the films that I did as a child artiste I would always see my name in the end and it would go like, ‘Nargis, Dilip Kumar and Baby Tabassum”. She remarked in a 2008 Screen India interview. “Eventually, I started thinking that my name was ‘And Baby Tabassum’!

She took time away from pictures to earn her B.A. from Aligarth University and afterwards resumed her career. Tossing aside the “Baby” moniker she was ready to take on lead roles, but found herself mostly playing supporting parts, usually as someone’s sister or best friend. She did realize a period as “heroine” in the mid-60s when she was cast in B-grade films opposite action star Azad in Zimbo Finds a Son, Gogola, and Tarzan Ki Mehbooba (all 1966).

Married to Vijay Govil, she is the mother of 1980s actor Hoshang Govil and the grandmother of actress Kushi. Actor Arun Govil is her brother-in-law
