9 real life couples that will make you believe in love this Valentine's Day

Bollywood remains the ultimate source of inspiration when it comes to romance. Nothing can you make you believe in true love like Hindi movies. It has shown us no matter what, true love always prevails. But, for a few people this philosophy was not just limited to the screen. Some love stories are just meant to truly, madly, deeply real as well. So, this Valentine’s Day we take a look at real couples who have redefined love. Few of them might have been together longer than the other but one thing is common amongst all of them -- which is undying love for their special one. Let us take you through some of the most special love stories of Bollywood
1.Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan
Well, what can you say about Shah Rukh Khan? He is the king of Bollywood and every girls dream catch. His attractive persona on screen and charming personality off screen has fans drooling over him since decades. However, he is a fiercely committed husband. India’s biggest superstar fell in love with Gauri Chibber even before he made his mark as an actor on big screen. In an industry where marriages often lose their charm after a while, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have stood the test of time. And this is what makes their pair so special. In fact, the love story of the superstar is no less dramatic than a Bollywood story in itself. Shah Rukh saw Gauri for the first time at a common’s friend house party in 1984. He was only 18 years at the time. He saw her dancing with another guy and due to his shy nature he couldn’t even ask her for a dance. Finally, after gathering some courage when he asked Gauri for a dance she turned him down saying that she was waiting for her brother. While there was no ‘brother’. Later, when Shah Rukh found out about this he called her and said “Mujhe bhi apna bhai bana do”. And this is how their special relationship began. Although, the two were deeply in love and we’re very sure about getting married but there was one big factor still in their way which was their different religions. Gauri is a Hindu and Shah Rukh is Muslim. It was obvious that their parents did not approve of the relationship. After all, religions do play an important role in marriages of our country. Five Years after keeping their secret and a whole lot of convincing later their parents finally agreed for their marriage. Today, even after 25 years have gone by the couple are still going strong. They are parents to three lovely children – Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. The couple still are not shy from showcasing their affection for each other as recently, praising Gauri, Shah Rukh Khan had this to say, “She is a complete woman in every way.”
2. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput
Shahid Kapoor has a humungous fan following among the millennials. We are sure that the news of Shahid Kapoor’s wedding must have broken the hearts of millions of girls. The wedding announcement in itself came as a surprise. After being in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor, which lasted for long Shahid Kapoor was single for quite a while. So the news that he decided to settle down all of a sudden came as a surprise to many. The fact that Mira Rajput wasn’t a celebrity made people even more curious about her. Shahid had stated earlier that he wouldn’t want to get married to a Bollywood actress. As he felt marrying someone from outside the industry will give him outside perspective and also help him avoid the complications that come along with being with another star. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput met each other through their parents. Talking about the "moment" he fell in love with Mira, he said, "I’m still falling in love with her….a bit more every day. The first time we met, we spoke for seven hours. We were at a friends' farmhouse in Delhi. We went for a walk outside and the sun was setting behind her. I realised her eyes were not dark. They had a hazel tinge. That moment, I felt shayad main iss ladki se shaadi kar sakta hoon. But I also told myself, “What are you thinking? Bees saal ki hai besharam!” Shahid’s parents were also very eager to get him married, as they felt it was the perfect age for him to settle down. Shahid too felt the same and decided to try taking things forward with Mira. Initially, the two decided to meet up a few times. So, Shahid flew down to Delhi and the two began to hit it off. Reportedly, Mira was a bit sceptical about going ahead with the marriage considering there was a 12 year age gap between the two and also Shahid Kapoor being a superstar. But, after a few meetings with Shahid, Mira had no doubts that he was the one. Even when the two appeared on a popular talk show hosted by Karan Johar, it was visible they are comfortable with each other and have a sheer adoration for each other. Shahid has been married to his beautiful wife Mira Rajput for two years now and has a daughter named Misha. After Misha was born, Shahid took a break from acting. He considered this to be a very important part in his life and not something that he wanted to miss out on.
3.Riteish Deshmukh And Genelia D’souza
Year 2002, a sweet 16 year old girl arrived at the Mumbai airport from Hyderabad with her mom, expecting to meet a young boy from an influential Maharashtrian family. Yes, the young boy we are talking about is Riteish Deshmukh, son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Initially, Genelia felt that Riteish will be rich spoilt brat and full of tantrums. So she decided to give him attitude before he did. “I walked out of the airport and met Genelia's mom. Then I saw this tall girl looking in the opposite direction, completely ignoring me. I was like, 'Why is she behaving like this?' said Riteish Deshmukh in an interview. When Genelia was asked about this she replied, “I did say, 'Hi!' I'd found out two days before that he was the Chief Minister's son so I assumed he was a spoilt brat... a typical politician's son... so I thought I'd give him attitude before he did! (laughs) Otherwise, I am shy and reserved by nature.” However, Genelia was surprised to see how humble and polite Riteish was to everyone on sets. He was also extremely respectful to her parents. Not many people know that Riteish is also a professional architect, and architecture is what he used to discuss with Genelia on the sets. And Genelia, who also was studying architecture used to share things about her college and exams with him. They gradually fell in love and after a nine-year long relationship, finally tied the knot on February 3, 2012. “In a relationship the most important thing is to respect the other person and that’s what will get you unconditional love. There is no love without respect… Love and respect will lay a good foundation for a great relationship.” This quote by Riteish Deshmukh really explains why the two have such a good understanding in their relationship.
4.Anand Ahuja and Sonam Kapoor
While actress Sonam Kapoor and businessman Anand Ahuja have never officially admitted about their relationship. However the two have never shied from publicly displaying their relation either through social media posts or making public appearances together. It all started around 2015, when the made appearances on each other’s Instagram post. As time went on, the posts of the two together also became more frequent. While Sonam used to share only a few pictures, Anand definitely made it up by sharing lots of them. Still, both refused to admit that they were together. On May 3, 2017, when Sonam Kapoor went to Delhi to receive the national award for her exceptional performance in Neerja, accompanying her were her father Anil Kapoor and Anand Ahuja. That kind of confirmed it for us that they were together. The rumours of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and according to reports, the couple is all set to get married this June. 5.Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai

Abhishek and Aishwarya met on the sets of the movie, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), and later worked on another film, Kuch Naa Kaho (2003). Abhishek was even allegedly engaged to be married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor at the time. And Aishwarya Rai also was dating Salman Khan. However, Abhishek’s engagement with Karisma broke off and even Aishwarya broke up with Salman. Although, she did get involved with Vivek Oberoi for a brief period of time after that. Reportedly, sparks flew at the sets of the song Kajra re from the movie Bunty Aur Babli. And post that, the two got many movies in which they were cast together like Guru, Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2. In fact, it was during the shooting of Dhoom 2, when they first started to develop feelings for each other. Later, during the premiere of Guru in Toronto when Abhishek finally gathered the courage to propose to the love of his life. Abhishek said in one of his interviews: “I was filming in New York for a movie. And, I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that, 'One day, wouldn't it be nice if I was together with her, married. Years later, we were there for the premiere of Guru. After the premiere, we were back in the hotel. So, I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me.”
6.Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan----
After a five-year relationship, when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan finally decided to settle down, the celebrations were unmatched. Style, luxury and regal were the keywords of this high-profile wedding. It is a known fact that Saif and Kareena are from different cultures. According to the Pataudi tradition, women have to convert to Islam before marrying their significant other. Even Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore did too. But Kareena certainly wasn’t up for such a practice and was also backed by her husband in this matter. In relationships, acceptance is the key for it surviving. You must accept your partners for who they are and should not feel the need to change a single thing about them. It all started when the two met on the sets of Tashan. Kareena had recently broken up with Shahid Kapoor whom she was dating since quite a few years and Saif, who was married to Amrita Singh, too was single at the time. The two got married on October 16, 2012. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's darling son Taimur, who is already a year old now, became an internet sensation ever since he was born. 7.Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna
Akshay had quite the journey before he entered Bollywood. He was working as a waiter in Bangkok and as a cook. Meanwhile, Twinkle Khanna was preparing for her Bollywood debut. It was not until the, Khiladi series of movies till Akshay Kumar managed to make a mark of his own in the industry.Believe it or not, the credit of them meeting goes to Filmfare. Yes, You heard that right! The two first met during a shoot for Filmfare magazine, in Mumbai, where Akshay instantly fell for Twinkle. In one of his interviews with Filmfare, the actor confessed the same and said: “I met Twinkle for the first time during a photo session with Jayesh Seth for Filmfare. I still have that photograph. Thank you Filmfare!”. However, it was actually during the shooting of their film, International Khiladi, when the two fell for each other, and the rest is history. The two got married on January 7, 2001 and now parents to two adorable children, Aarav and Nitara. Twinkle is also the producer of Akshay’s Pad Man which further shows their faith in each other.
8.Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone first met on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhasnali’s Ramleela. The couple still haven’t admitted or denied that they are dating. Although, you can very easily tell that they are as the bond they share is something much more than just friendship. Deepika made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. Her career was already off to a flying start. Ranveer debuted opposite Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baarat. The two went on to win the Filmfare Awards for Best Debut actors in their respective years. Right from the first time they worked together their sizzling chemistry was visible. Then in 2015, the two were seen in Bajirao Mastani. Recently, their latest movie Padmaavat had to go through a lot of struggle before its release. But the two always stated that they were there for each other no matter what. The performance of Ranveer and Deepika has again received an amazing response from everyone. Ranveer at a recent event also said, "Deepika is a wonderful artiste and one of the best actors we ever had in Hindi cinema. I hope to collaborate with her in more films in the future."
9.Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma
They can easily be termed the IT couple of our country. He is the wonder boy of world cricket and she is one of the finest actors that we have today. The two first met during a commercial shoot. After which, they became good friends and were often spotted together. Soon, the rumours of them dating starting building up. Although, the two did not admit to rumours initially, they were never shy to show their affection for each other publicly. Like, when Anushka Sharma decided to go to New Zealand to meet Virat Kohli, who was on a tour with Team India or when Virat Kohli blew a kiss to Anushka in the stadium after his century. In the same month, Virat even admitted to his relationship with Anushka at an event, and said : "Whatever is there is out in the open, I have nothing to hide." After dating for almost 4 long years, the couple finally got hitched in a secret ceremony on December 11, 2017, in Tuscany, Italy. It was an intimate Hindu Wedding attended by the close family and friends of Virat and Anushka.
