Shankerji after the death of Jaikishan, was deserted by his mentor and favourite production houses. He used his talent in this lean time to compose for a documentary Kanchenjunga. He was an ace Sitar player himself and primarily composed on sitar only in earlier years but later on was compelled to switch over to piano when diabetes threatened serious complications due to fingers getting injured due to strings. This seems to be a picture of the same documentary of films division getting recorded in AIR studio.
